Our Story
ESP Data Solutions Inc. began as a software development company for car dealerships in 1995 and progressed into a VIN data development company. We have become the automotive industry’s trusted VIN Decoding resource. We have gathered nearly a million VIN documents from OEM manufacturers and NHTSA for all vehicle types, including trailer builders. Furthermore, we have developed several proprietary software algorithms as part of the verification process; when the VIN isn’t valid or to specification, the data may contain inaccuracies detrimental to business operations. Our database contains over 5,000 OEM manufacturers, allowing ESP to offer data on all vehicle types from 1981 to the present.
We value integrity, honesty, accountability, trust, and commitment. As our company’s core values, these qualities require our focus on customer satisfaction rather than sales. This results in stringently maintained internal quality control guidelines, processes, and procedures, as well as providing weekly system updates.
VinLink™ was created in 2003 to be the first internet-accessible VIN decoder. It meets the demand for VIN information by providing the most detailed and reliable information available in today’s market.
Our Team
Greg Skoczylas – President
Greg joined ESP Data Solutions in 2000 as our Treasurer. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from Western New England University. He pursued further education and graduated with a master’s in accounting from the College of Our Lady of the Elms. This education allowed him to run our finances smoothly and provide solid business advice. Over the years, he has provided quality financial and tax services. This service and his loyalty to the business have helped him rise to serve as our President. His goals prioritize quality information, emphasizing timely responses, customer service, and satisfaction. Greg is committed to ensuring that his employees feel safe and appreciated.
Outside work, he is a devoted dad and husband who enjoys traveling and playing table tennis with his family and friends.
Piotr Kałamajski — Vice President
With a profound foundation in technology, having earned a master’s degree in computer science from the University of Warsaw in 1984, Piotr embarked on a remarkable journey in the tech industry. In 1998, Piotr joined ESP as a developer, knowing the company was moving to the forefront of technological innovation. Over the years, he played a pivotal role in developing every product in the company’s portfolio, showcasing his exceptional skills and dedication to emerging technologies. In 2005, his contributions were significantly recognized, as Piotr became a partner and shareholder in ESP.
Away from the digital world, Piotr finds solace and inspiration in the beauty of nature. Hiking through untamed offers a cherished escape, a time for reflection, and an opportunity to reconnect with the natural world. This passion for outdoor adventure reflects his appreciation for life’s simpler pleasures and the importance of balance.
Susan Safford — Administrator
Sue has been with ESP Data for 19 years and was Jody’s loving wife. She keeps the administrative processes running. Part of her role is maintaining our records, invoices, and payments. Her long-time experience with us showcases her excellent customer service. She is committed to providing our team and clients with the best service. She often states that she enjoys our teamwork mentality regarding customer relations.
Outside work, she is devoted to her family and enjoys dancing, adventures, and fantastic meals. One of her favorite meals is baked stuffed shrimp!
CarolAnn Lovejoy-Jessup — Director of Business Development
CarolAnn is our Director of Business Development and foremost sales contact. She has been with ESP Data Solutions for four years. She works closely with the marketing team to find new business opportunities and build relationships with our clients.
When she isn’t making clients feel welcome and heard, you will see her on the trail in her Jeep or donating her time to Tiny Hands, a local volunteer organization.
Barbara Skoczylas — Treasurer
In 2023, Barbara joined ESP Data Solutions as our Treasurer. She is responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable. In addition to these duties, she uses her tax expertise to provide tax services. Barbara graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from Western New England University. Continuing her education, she graduated with her master’s in accounting from the College of Our Lady of the Elms. With 22 years of financial experience, she gained valuable experience working for MassMutual Life Insurance Company. In her daily tasks, Barbara is always eager to assist her team and take on additional projects.
Outside of work, she is a devoted mom and wife, for whom family is her whole world. She loves knitting, crocheting, and walking her dog, Gromit.
Michał Mosiewicz — IT Representative
With over 30 years of programming experience, Michał stands at the pinnacle of software development, embodying a wealth of knowledge and a diverse skill set that spans the entirety of the technology spectrum. Starting in the early days of Java and .NET, he has been at the forefront of desktop and web application development. This showcases his ability to continue evolving within the industry. With an excellent understanding of chip-level programming, he demonstrates an exceptional ability to engage with the foundational aspects of computing hardware. Using these skills in a multitude of designs, he has worked on various projects. Some examples include traditional software development and artificial intelligence.
For ESP, Michał creates our web packaging. He programs the Java API and web front-ends. In addition, he rebuilt the back-end programming and is creating an entirely new server system to bring our technologies forward and keep us on the cutting edge. Furthermore, he is always available to explain the intricacies of his work to the team and prospective clients, relaying the information in the most direct and approachable way possible.
After work hours, he is a sailor, a windsurfer, a skier, or a biker, depending on snow and wind conditions.
Lori Grassey — Marketing and Sales
Lori began with ESP in 2021 as a junior sales associate. She brings an extensive background in customer service and client care. This experience, paired with her creativity, means she continues to generate ideas for making our services more visible to new and existing clients. She continues to work for our clients, providing an approachable explanation of our products and services.
When not chatting with fellow automotive enthusiasts about her Jeep, you can find her driving it around with the top-down and music turned up or at the beach with her favorite sci-fi fantasy novel.
Our Origins
Greg and Jody met in the late 90s and discovered they agreed there was a lack of centralized VIN decoding information. Both had been working separately to achieve a solution that could be readily sold on the market. They sat down and discussed many ideas for building a company to create this, which went on for hours. That conversation eventually became our current form of ESP Data Solutions. That discussion opened the door for a business that offers five different VIN solutions and became a company with over 25 years of automotive service experience. Greg knew and understood the power of the decoded VIN, and Jody knew the people who became our clients. Together, they worked to build the most accurate and up-to-date VIN data software company on the market.
Our current team strives to honor their memory by embodying their creativity, tenacity, and pride in what they built.
Greg held a Master of Science in Engineering from the Warsaw University of Technology in Poland, giving him a great deal of skill in problem-solving. Upon coming to the States, he worked as a senior Project Engineer in the aerospace field. This experience helped him see where the need for a cohesive and accurate source of vehicle information could be a tool, creating a simple solution for a complex problem. He helped found and build ESP using his unique talents and practical nature. In his spare time, you could often find him in the air. Aeronautics and flying were his passion. In addition, he enjoyed traveling overseas to spend time with his family.
Jody began studying computer-aided design in the 80s, as technology was still developing and becoming a daily tool. He worked for a time creating online catalogs of used vehicles with the VIN information attached but soon grew tired of manually attaching all the data. During this time, ESP Data began its inception. He served as President of ESP, focusing his considerable skills on bringing to life the concept of first-to-market VIN data and creating long-lasting client relationships, which we still maintain today. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed landscaping his yard, going on adventures with his loving family, and enjoying sports-related activities. You could often find him playing to win on the golf course!

Anna Kalamajski
Anna is a highly skilled database professional with a strong educational background, holding a Master’s degree from the SGH Warsaw School of Economics. In 2018, Anna joined ESP, where she has continued to excel and contribute to her field.
Beyond her professional life, Anna is passionate about personal development and hobbies that enrich her life. She practices Tai Chi, an ancient Chinese martial art known for its health benefits, showcasing her interest in wellness and mindfulness. Additionally, Anna explores her artistic side through ceramic mosaics.
Bartek Włodarski
Bartek Włodarski is a talented information technology engineer whose career spans over two decades. Since 1999, he has been an integral part of ESP, where he significantly contributed to the development of the data collection process. Bartek has a comprehensive knowledge of cars and the intricacies of Vehicle Identification Number structures, making him a respected expert in the automotive industry.
Outside of his professional life, Bartek is deeply passionate about fitness and bodybuilding, devoting much of his time to maintaining and improving his physical well-being. His interest in politics and socio-political change led him to become involved in global events, reflecting his commitment to learning and engaging with the world around him. With a unique combination of technical knowledge and diverse interests, Bartek brings a well-rounded perspective to every endeavor he undertakes.
Mateusz Balcerzak
Mateusz Balcerzak is a seasoned professional with a robust technical education, specializing in logistics. Since 2006, he has been a dedicated employee of ESP, where he excels in searching, collecting, and examining comprehensive information about cars. His extensive knowledge and attention to detail make him an asset in the automotive information sector.
Outside of his professional life, Mateusz is a passionate lover and owner of Maine Coon cats, known for their majestic size and friendly personalities. He is also a dedicated hobbyist and an amateur in documentary photography. Additionally, Mateusz is an avid consumer of visual arts and pop culture; staying abreast of the latest trends and developments in these dynamic fields.
Grzegorz Burczyński
Grzegorz Burczyński has a strong background with a secondary technical education. He has been a dedicated employee at ESP since 2005. He is responsible for all aspects of data mapping. His expertise and meticulous attention to detail ensure the accuracy and reliability of data, making him a critical asset to the company.
In his personal life, Grzegorz is an avid sports enthusiast, engaging in various forms of physical activity. He has a particular passion for bicycles and enjoys recreational cycling. Additionally, he loves caravanning, embracing the freedom and adventure of traveling on the open road. Grzegorz’s diverse interests in sports, cycling, and caravanning reflect his active and adventurous spirit, complementing his professional dedication.
